Condolence: To Mr. McGovern's family.
Mr. McGovern was my gov't teacher at Cox HS class of 1971.I will always remember him saying that long green line is getting shorter and shorter. He always made me laugh and he was a wonderful teacher. It is obvious to me that he was a Christian and as he now stands before our Lord Jesus will say a life well lived.

Condolence: George was our Coach, Teacher amd Mentor. He allowed his students the to sicceed while he was comfortable to be in the background, not taking any measure of credit for our success. There was way he had of having insight into our lives and guiding us as though we were family. Our menories of our youth and having George as as a big part of those menories will never let his influence on us vanish. Our love to the Family and our sorrow for your loss.

Condolence: Dear McGovern family,
You have my deepest sympathy and are in my prayers for comfort at this time. Mr. McGovern was a special man and he will be missed by all those who knew him.
Mr. McGovern was my Principal when we opened Landstown Middle School back in 1992. He always supported us as a staff and often told us that we needed to be sure to take care of our family first, because the job would still be there, but our loved ones may not. He also reminded us to "think about what's best for the kids," when we made decisions that would affect the students in our care.
I think of him when the going gets tough and remember his motto that "No one rises to low expectations." I have that banner in my school poster box after all these years. My students hear me say this often to encourage them to be the best they are capable of being.
May God bless you all with happy memories during this time as you grieve together. Cherish those stories and share them often with each other as a blanket of comfort in the remembrance of his love.

Condolence: May God strengthen and comfort you during this time of transition. Mr. McGovern taught government at Cox HS while I was a student there. He was a wonderful role model and educator. He'll be missed.

Condolence: I send my deepest condolences to Mr. McGovern's family. He was a great and inspirational coach and teacher to many over the years. I remember his government class like it was yesterday, although it was over 40 years ago. Mr. McGovern was a great inspiration to me in 12th grade (class of '71). I have spent 36 years working in government which can be directly attributed to his inspirational teaching. Again, my deepest condolences for your loss.
