Edward Julius Brunsman, 86, passed away at his residence in Chesapeake, VA on December 21, 2015. Eddie was born in Connersville, IN to the late Nicholas and Jesse Hart Brunsman. He served in World War II and the Korean War in the United States Navy and Marine Corps and married Elizabeth (Betty) Hilliard on February 12, 1949 in Washington, D.C. Eddie retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a Mechanical Engineer. He had a wonderful life with his family and friends and was a truly devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Eddie had a deep passion for photography, golf and traveling the world with his wife Betty.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Hilliard Brunsman (Honey); daughter, Margaret Susan Hester (Mabry); son, Carl Brunsman (Phyllis); two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Cecelia Hester; and a host of other family and friends.
The memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 201 St. Paul's Blvd, Norfolk with the Reverend Scott Hennessy officiating followed by military honors.
