Hey Gi-Gi I know its been a while. I love you. And I miss you dearly. I seem to always think about you more during the holidays cause we spent so much time together around those time. So it hurts but Im dealing with it. Today four years ago we stood in line and casted our votes for Barack Obama. I missed you today but I voted for us. Happy Easter Gi-Gi.....I miss you. Been thinking bout you lately. Im not sure if its because its almost been a year since you passed or if its because all the holidays are coming up and this will be another year with out you. I still think about you all the time. And I still see your face all the time. I ask God all the time to say hi to you when I say my prayers at night but I know you hear me. Tonya is cooking today so we are going over there with her to eat. Yup me and her are friends now and I talk to her like I use to talk to you now. So in some way I still got a piece of you to talk to. Corki is still good. i can tell he is being strong. He is doing great though. My cousin passed last week Gi-Gi. Her name is Lashawn.Look for her for me and tell her I said Hi and I loved her. Okay girl...Just know I miss you and love you very much. Yvette

Hey Gi-Gi, I know its been a while...I just wanted to say Happy New Years. I still miss you as much as I did before. Alot has changed in the past couple of months but we all still hanging in there! Hey Gi-Gi, Just stoping by to say hello. And also tot tell you how much I miss you and Love you. Things are ok but I know you been watching us. I just pray that everything works out. I really could use your advice right now. I miss talking to you. But Tonya she has been there and sometime I hear you in her. Just wanted you to know Im listening. I miss hanging out with you. I made peach cobbler from scratch the other day you would have been proud. oh and I finally made it to Buffalo. It was just how you described it to. Well I will catch up with you soon. Hey GiGi, Just dropping by to say hello. Me and Corki are doing ok. We were both a lil under the weather this weekend. But we are getting better. We hung out with Tonya earlier this week. It was fun. Been a long tim since we have done that. We laughed joked and ate dinner. Good times. We miss you like crazy. Im sitting here watching your show Unsung. Its been a rough week. Jamela took Aniya from me. I feel like crap. She is like my daughter. I know thats her daughter but I cant help but to feel like someone snatched my child away from me. I just hope and pray she takes care of her like Corki and I did. Im so sad. Well I wont keep you with my depression. I will make it through....Pops is doing ok too. We love you and miss you dearly. Hey GiGi, Just stopping by to say hey. I havent been up to much this week. Trying to stay focused on work. I think about you everyday. Corki is doing better. But he is still hurting. We all are. Your presence is sorely missed. He got your name on his neck. Its nice too. He said it hurt but he loves it. He looks at it everyday. Pops is here with us today. Him and Corki are in the living room watching the game. Im going to bed soon but I wanted to stop by and tell you hello. I hope you are having fun in heaven. I miss you. Hey Gi-Gi...Happy Mothers Day! Today started off a little sad. We made it through though. We had breakfast. Pops came through and spent the whole day with us. I made dinner. Shawn came through too. But I know you were there cause I felt your presence. I hope you enjoyed your Mothers Day in heaven. We just got done playing spades and me a pops spanked they tail as always. We spanked them like we use to spank you and Corkis tail...lol. We were sitting here playing and I was having flashbacks of when me you pops and corki use to play. I kinda got sad for a minute. Hey Gi-Gi the service was real nice yesterday. You looked so beautiful. You were at peace huh? I saw you brought the thunder with ya too....lol. I woke up this morning and was thinking about that time me and you went to farm fresh and you ran that man over with the cart and me and you bust out laughing....he went and told the manager on us. Remember the manager came and asked for our name. told you the man had just had open heart surgery....you said then he a** shouldnt be in here he she be in bed and rolled off on the manager...That was too funny me and you laughed the rest of the day off that. Thats how Im going to remember you Gi-Gi. Always making somebody laugh. I got to meet your sisters. They look like you. And I met pops sister too. Pops,Tonya,Shawn and Corki did really good at the service. But I know you know cause you were there. We had a lot of food too. Sorry I wrote to you again. I feel this is my only way to still talk to you. Cause I get up here and see your picture and its like your right in front of me listening to me. Plus I miss you so much this is my way of feeling close to you again.So you might have another from me by the end of the day...lol But I wont bother you to much at least I will try not to cause I know you are looking over so many of us. Tonya, I cannot express how sorry I am for you today…or how sorry I am that I was not be there to support you. Over the years that we have known each other, we have not always seen eye to eye – some of the time we didn’t even like each other. But through growth on both our parts and the many blessings of God, you are someone who I consider one of my closest and best friends. You have always been there for myself and the boys, even if you were there for no other reason that to tell me to “stop tripping!” For that, I love you. I love you for all the times that others did not believe in me, but you did, I love you for being an awesome aunt, a super mother, a wonderful daughter to your parents, an honest sister to your brothers and of course, a true friend. I realize that today, you experienced what has thus far undoubtedly been the hardest day of your life. I realize that today no matter how many people you are surrounded by, offering their sincerest support and love, you will still feel alone. My only goal in this is to let you know that while I was unable to be there with you and your family physically, my heart has been with you since this happened. And I sincerely felt that I needed to reach out to you to say something other than, “sorry for your loss.” You don’t know this, but I’m a poet (or at least I play one at home…), don’t worry, I didn’t write you a poem. I want you to feel better; however I don’t want you rolling around on the floor laughing! With that said, this is not even really a poem, just maybe a thought. Be clear, I don’t expect this to ease the loss your heart feels, I know that only time will ease that type of pain but I do expect that one day, a few years from now, you will read this again and understand…maybe even smile. Although this is not a poem, I decided to title it anyway, I thought ‘Beautiful Sunset’ was very appropriate. Most of us are in awe when we see a beautiful sunset, God’s creation, God’s will, God’s message. Sometimes a sunset can make us sad, it can make us think and wonder – but even after all that, what we usually remember is how beautiful that sunset was. How amazing it was, and how even though we know we can go any number of places and see a breathtaking sunset, seeing that one in particular seems to have meant something to us. The end of life is like that beautiful sunset. The sun sets over all of God’s creations everyday. It signifies the end of a day with the promise that there will be a new one on the next day followed by another beautiful sunset at the end of that day. In death, God is setting the sun on a beautiful life, with the promise that the next day that beautiful life will now sit to the right hand of God and in memory of that life, there will be another sunset – for us to remember that life by. Your mother’s life end was a beautiful sunset, Tonya. It was the end of a day that you will always remember, like a beautiful sunset, with smiles and awe and admiration. Your mother’s life is a beautiful sunset and I believe that of all those she left behind, she would expect you especially to see her life and homegoing as such. Your mother would have expected you to find the beauty in this, because you have always been an excellent judge of beauty. Remember your mother’s life as that beautiful sunset. I love all of you, but I felt you, needed this the most. Mia

This is the picture i will remember of my sister Norma, always happy. Full of life. When she came out to Seattle to visit us, it was the best time. She was always in good spirits and had good spiritual words to share. I know in my heart that she is with family in heaven now. She always called me brother and will be sorely missed by myself and my family, especially my wife Valerie. She was her rock, always there to lend an ear to whatever was on her mind. I love you so much Gi-Gi. I am forever grateful to you for everything that you have taught me. You excepted me flaws and all and you never passed judgement. You were better to me than any other female in my life. You taught me the true meaning of love and family. You are the best mother in law any girl could ever ask for. I am going to miss our late night talks and early morning jokes. I am having a hard time dealing with you being gone. But I know if you were here you would tell me it would be ok baby. I am going to miss your smile and all of your advice. If I could turn back the hands of time I would do it all over again with you.
