To those who loved & cherished my cousin Jean. It's so hard to lose someone so dear who loved & lived life to the fullest. She loved to serve whether it was a patient, friend, family or her church and she did it joyfully. I remember she & Steve & Aunt Elly living with me a few months when Aunt Elly went to work at The Dispatch here in Columbus, Ohio. We did have some laughs & ah ha moments. She was a bundle of joy and I regret that the miles kept us from seeing one another more often but I cherish the memories as will you all as time passes and heals the hurts. Praying for Comfort for all of you.

Dear Kelly, Karen, and friends of my cousin Jean Ann, I know that your hearts are breaking right now as you part with someone who was such a presence in your lives. Although I didn't know Jean Ann well due to our age difference and miles between, I do know that I remember her fondly with a smile because she had a way of making those around her laugh, even if her troubles were many. Please know that you are all in my prayers as you go forward, living lives of service and love as demonstrated by my cousin Jean Ann. May God bless you all.

Jean Ann, as we called her, welcomed us into her home in Virginia with love and laughter. Along with my mother and sisters, we were making a visit to see Jean Ann's mother and my favorite and most fashionable aunt, Eleanor. Jean Ann was always full of stories and laughter, and she told us about how the stars were brighter and closer in her part of Virginia. After dinner one night, we all gathered outside to watch the stars; and I remember agreeing I could almost reach out and touch them. Now, Jean Ann is with those stars, loving her family from afar. May God give you all his peace and may you rejoice in Jean Ann's love for you all.

To Kelly and all of Jean's family and friends. We are friends from Jean's time of nursing at Rocky Mount, VA , just before she went to Montana, Bob as a hospital chaplain and me as a nurse working along side Jean. what can we say---She was one of a kind! We loved her and missed her so much when she went west. We have been in contact with her recently and even though we are saddened to hear of her death, are rejoicing that she had found peace with Christ and in her own words, was "ready to go be with Him" I was able to tell her the last time we talked that if I didn't see her again here, I would see her on the other side. Looking forward to that!!!. Our prayers are with you that God will engulf you in His peace at this time. Bob and Nancy Johnson

Jean had moved to Montana and I think she wanted to be a cowgirl more than anything. We had local wagon trains near where we lived. So I pack us up and off to the Pine Hills we go. She was like a little kid at Christmas, or a puppy wiggling and squiggling when it's owner comes home from work. We slept in the back of the Suburran and all night she would wake and say, "is it time to get up yet?" After the fourth or fifth time I wanted to stuff a sock in her mouth. Finally dawn began to seep into our surroundings and Jean was up and out of the truck (sigh) and she went off to make the coffee. All the ol' Cowboys were grateful for her being an early riser and making them coffee. I was grateful to get a few more winks of sleep. She was such an awesome persons. Ready to take on an adventure. I will miss her. See you again one day partner.

W hat a friend, you have been, We have known each other for about 42 years. and always kept intouch with each other, even when you were across the country. When i came to Va last year to visit I was so excited, drove all the way and stayed 2 weeks had a very nice time, One thing we did was make about 300 cupcakes and decorated them really nice, lady bugs but by the last 75 we were running out of frosting and we got tired and slap happy. It took us all day I never wanted to see another cupcake again. The cupcakes went to her church and we took them to the fire stations around her town, what a wonderful memory I will hold for that time. I will miss calling you. Jean will alwys be in my heart, and will miss you very much. Love you.

My regards to the family at the passing of your dear beloved one, my cousin, Jean. I called her Jean Ann all her life and her and I had some wonderful times growing up. She loved to come to the farm and be dad's right hand-man. It didn't matter whether he was cleaning out stalls or working in the fields, she would be with him on the tractor or where-ever he would allow her to go. Her sense of humor was terrific and we were always laughing when she was around. She loved her family, church family, friends and co-workers and enjoyed her job so much. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the weeks and months to come as you will surely miss a most important person in your life!

What can I say about this amazing, beautiful woman. Jean came into my life when just starting my career both as a new nurse and new Naval officer. She took me under her wing like so many before (and so many after I am sure). I looked up to her and learned so very much. The best thing she taught me though was compassion. She was one of the most beautiful, compassionate souls. I am sure she is surrounded by so many in Heaven...family, friends, and many patients she cared for. Jean always had a smile, wonderful stories, words of wisdom to share. And I have so many memories and stories of her that I will forever hold in my heart. Very few times did I ever see her NOT smiling and laughing. I will never forget her opening up her house a number of times to me, but the time that sticks out the most is when I was completely packed up and moving home to Michigan. My daughter and I stopped at her house for dinner (she insisted we be well fed) on our way out of town. She is the very last person I saw leaving that beautiful time in my life, in Virginia. I love you so much Jean. May you rest in beautiful peace, with so many loving arms wrapped around you. You will be missed dearly.

Jean cared for our son for several years both at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and in our home through home health care. It was like having another grandma for Ryan. She talked to him, sang to him and held him. She refererred to this as "Lap therapy"... she always said it was what Ryan liked... and yes he loved being held! I always teased her that the therapy was more for her! They had a very special relationship. We will miss her smiles, laughter and hugs and Ryan will most of all miss that Lap Therapy! Rest in Peace Jean and please keep a watch over our boy.

Dear Kelly, Karen, and all Jean's family and friends, My heart aches for your loss! Although my memories are few due to how far apart we all lived from each other, the ones that I have are so special. Any and all visits that were made to our parents home were always fun! Jean's sense of humor never made for a dull moment; I loved being in her presence. I'll never forget when Mom and I came down to visit her, Eleanor, Kelly and Steve; we had such a great time! In all recent text messages, she shared how special her church, family and friends were to her...she was so grateful for the love that surrounded her. I share in your sorrow and loss, yet I know that she loved God and is now at peace, free from pain and suffering.
