We had a great Thanksgiving with my brother Mike and his family as well as my Mom. One night in the condo we (Claudia, Ida, Aunt Bea and myself) were playing "Headbands". The phrase that Aunt Bea was trying to get us to say was "Cotton Candy". Frequently when Aunt Bea would ask me how I was doing, I would reply by saying "I'm fine and dandy, just like cotton candy". Well the clue that Aunt Bea used to try to get me to say cotton candy was... "How you feelin' Duane". Unfortunately, I was not smart enough to figure out Aunt Bea's excellent clue but since then that became our catch phrase. It was a great memory of a very fun week with Aunt Bea. We love you Aunt Bea.

When we were suddenly swamped by a huge thunderstorm with very heavy rain. Before we knew it traffic had slowed to a crawl and the water was now above the bottom of the car doors. We were all nervous and then to top it off, we were ordered off the highway. Now things really got quiet in the car. After a few minutes of nervous silence Aunt Beat started singing "How highs the water mama" a Johnny Cash song. Needless to say we all started laughing and the tension of our situation was lifted. I will never forget how she eased us through that time. That was Aunt Beat.
