As a child , I looked forward every year for you to come back to Ohio , You were aways more then just an Uncle you were the Father that I never had , The last time you were in Ohio we spent a day doing what you loved the most going to a Flea Market . My heart is saddened this morning when I read this. Dick and Norma Ray were a part of my growing up. They took me ice skating and many other things we all did together. I remember how welcoming Richard and Norma were to invite us to their home to watch the South Norfolk 4th of July Parade. It was great food and he was tellign us to eat. He had such a life about him. He was very proud of his children and his carrer both with the Navy and the Gas company.

He was very interested in Michelle and I because we were still on active duty, and were we Navy Chiefs. He was a great man and I admired.

He had such great stores about his career and it was such a pleasure to talk to him. He was a great man and will always be a Navy Chief. I am proud to be associated in the same class as him; The Chiefs mess will miss you. Sleep well Chief you will not be forgotten. It was an honor to be in the Chiefs mess with you.

My Mom and I wanted to send our condolences. We're so very sorry to hear of Uncle Dick's passing. Unfortunately no words can ever make something like this any easier.
