The men and women who served in the armed forces, whether during a time of war, or one of peace, are living examples of that contradiction. Each should be honored and remembered, so that our gratitude never fades.

Joseph “Joe” Kraus, 90, went home to be with his Lord October 16, 2017. Joe served his country in the United States Navy and retired after more than 30 years of service as a Lt. Commander. He was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and had volunteered at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Joe was loving and kind, he was outstanding and wonderful to his family. ...

One of the Sweetest and Kindest Souls that has ever walked this earth. Howard passed away on June 9, 2015 of natural causes at home in Chesapeake, VA at the beautiful young age of 94. Howard was born on July 24, 1920 in Java, South Dakota to William and Katrina Kunz. He was the youngest of six children and was imbued with such love that he easily radiated throughout his life. ...
