Obituary for Phyllis Lou McCullough

Phyllis L. McCullough peacefully passed away after a lengthy illness on November 23, 2023, in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she moved in 1999 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Phyllis was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on January 14, 1938. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lettie and Clyde Fisher, and her husband, Robert E. McCullough, and her beloved aunt, Delphia McWilliams.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Brunette (Tony) of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; Jeffrey Hammer (Molly) of McDonough, Georgia; Terri Cheesebrew (Brian) of Chesapeake, Virginia; Michelle Hammer (Steve) of Chesapeake, Virginia; four grandchildren, Angela Uras (Tim), Kristen Dunlow (Mason), Tyler Cheesebrew, and James Murphy; five great grandchildren, Jasmine Uras, Leila Uras, Peyton Dunlow, Kaiden Dunlow, and Kensley Cheesebrew.

Phyllis was an avid crafter, artist, and cook. She loved to decorate and entertain for every occasion. She authored a cookbook with all of the family’s favorite recipes that her family will always cherish.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Greenbrier Regional Medical Center and Suncrest Hospice for taking such good care of our mom.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.
