Virginia Dare Spooner, 82, of Cedar Road passed away November 28, 2018. Virginia was a native of Norfolk born to the late James G. and Dorothy Lee Cofield. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband, David Spooner. Virginia was a faithful member of Rosemont Christian Church and was a Deaconess Emeritus; she retired from the billing department with Royster Fertilizer Company. She was a member of Portsmouth Moose Lodge, called bingo at Hardees and McDonalds and volunteered at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center for 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Gwynn and her husband, Greg; grandchildren, Adam Gwynn and his wife, Kayla, and Kristen Stegner and her husband, Allan; and great grandchildren, Aidan D. and Riley J. Stegner.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 6 to7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate her life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Gorgans officiating.
