William "Marion" Spruill, Sr., 78, passed away November 26, 2018. Marion was born in Hertford, NC to the late Neal S. and Pauline Dail Spruill. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, William M. Spruill, Jr.; sister, Patricia Stone; and brothers, Neil S. Spruill, Jr. and Carlton W. Spruill. Marion worked as the Superintendent for the Chassis Line for the Ford Motor Company for 40 years. Following retirement, he went to the Ford plant in Louisville, KY and assisted with the redesign of the chassis line to ensure efficiency. Marion also worked for Donley Corporation where he was in charge of the quality control for door handles and side mirrors. He is a member of Indian River Masonic Lodge #252 and enjoyed restoring old cars, riding his Harley-Davidson, and attending NASCAR races.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia D. Spruill; daughters, Teresa Carneal and husband, Ray, Lenora Mullins, Wanda White and husband, William, Melody King, Marion Gene Collins and husband, James, Christina McCullough and husband, Michael; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Spruill and wife, Brenda; and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service with Masonic Rites will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. The family will recieve friends an hour prior to the service and immediately following service at a reception at the funeral home.
