Thelma Burroughs Peele, 100, passed away peacefully October 4, 2018. She was born in Martin Co., NC to the late William T. and Annie Williams Burroughs and was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph U. Peele, Sr. She retired from Miller and Rhoads Department store as a seamstress and was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Fred E. Peele and his wife DJ, Joseph U. Peele Jr. and his wife Sylvia, and Timothy T. Peele and his wife Paula. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11am at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Dr. Ken Barnes is officiating her celebration.
