Walter Spencer Humphries, 88, passed away September 10, 2018. He was the son of the late John and Minnie Williams Humphries. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine I. Humphries. Walter lived most of his life in Portsmouth, VA; he retired as a baker with Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company and over the years had worked at numerous bakeries in Portsmouth.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherion A. Martin and her husband, Ervin; son, John E. Humphries and his wife, Darlene; sister, Brenda McConnell; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.
