Obituary for William "Sonny" Rudolph White
William “Sonny” Rudolph White, 80 went home to be with his Lord August 15, 2018. Sonny was born in South Norfolk to the late Elbert R. and Nina “Pearl” Lynch White. He retired after more than 47 years with Norshipco; Sonny was a longtime and faithful member of South Norfolk Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of baseball, especially the Washington Nationals.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Bradshaw White; children, Brad White (Tina) and Benita Blake (Michael); sisters, Teenie Dengel (Johnny), Marie Kindley, Connie Lindell (Kenny) and Brenda Williams (James); four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, Doug Kindley.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 12 - 1 p.m. at South Norfolk Baptist Church, 1101 Chesapeake Avenue, Chesapeake with a service to celebrate his life at 1 p.m with Pastors Kyle Rader and Todd Holt officiating.
