Barbara Jean Simmons
Barbara “Bobbie” Turner Simmons, 73, of Hurdle Drive passed away August 1, 2018. Bobbie was a native of South Norfolk born to the late Jesse Beamon Turner and Lois Miller Turner. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, James H. “Bo” Simmons and brother, Beamon Turner. She was a member of Great Bridge Church of Christ and retired as the office manager of Nesson Sales, Norfolk.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Downs-Papke (Jack); son, Jeffrey Simmons (Lisa); grandchildren, Barbie, Courtney, Kelsey, Kyle, Tyler, Gabrielle, Zachary, Lexi, Chris, Daniel and Wesley; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Dean Turner (Beth); sisters-in-law, Peggy Turner and Myrtle Lee Johnson; and brother-in-law, Roger Simmons.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
