Obituary for Barry Wayne Hodges
Barry Wayne Hodges, age 57 and a special child of God went home to be with our Lord and Savior on July 21, 2018, with his family at his side. Barry was born January 6, 1961 in Portsmouth, VA. He was a 42-year resident of South Eastern Training Center in Chesapeake.
Barry is survived by his very loving and devoted parents, Lindbergh B. and Myrtle G. Hodges; his sisters, Rhonda H. Surring and her husband, Roger (Barry's Buddy), and Susan H. Lawson and her husband, David; his Brother, David J. Hodges all of Chesapeake; three nieces, Kristy L. Surring, Chelsea L. Brechtel and Mallorie Lawson; nephew, Kevin M. Surring; along with a host of many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Barry was a true inspiration to others and he loved anyone that took their time to get to know him. His presence will definitely be missed but his memory will forever be in our hearts.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 6:30 to 8 at Graham Funeral Home 1112 Kempsville Rd., Chesapeake. A service to celebrate his life will be held at the funeral home, Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Libengood officiating. He will be laid to rest at Nasemond -Suffolk Cemetery.
