Nancy Ryder  Harris
VIRGINIA BEACH- Nancy Ryder Harris, 61, passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on April 13, 2018 at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital. Nancy was born on November 19, 1956 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late, Raydene Edgar Ryder and Leon Ryder. She was also predeceased by her father-in-law, William “Pat” Harris; brother-in-law, Tom Hall and aunt, Carol Ryder. Nancy graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1974 and attended Tidewater Community College. She worked in the fiscal department at the Virginia Beach Department of Health for more than 14 years. In her youth, she was a member of Pony Club and won many ribbons in various horse shows and events. She and her husband Mike, owned and operated a rescue horse farm (Harmony Horse Farm) in Pungo in Virginia Beach as well as providing delicious fresh eggs to many people and local businesses. She cared for and loved many horses, dogs, cats, chickens and several poorly behaved goats. Her compassion for others, common sense advice, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Besides her father, left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 21 years, Gary “Mike” Harris; step-daughters, Bailey and Parker Harris; daughter, Nicole Gallier White and her husband, Brad; three grandchildren, Avery, Cameryn, and Merrick White; sister, Linda Ryder Dragas and her husband, Michael Armstrong; brother, Glenn Ryder; sister-in-law, Mary Ryder; mother-in-law, Rebecca “Rita” Harris; sister-in-law, Toni Whitlinger and her husband, George; ex-husband, Butch Gallier; aunt, Nancy Ryder Passal and her husband, Roger; uncle, Glenn Ryder and his wife, Joannie; aunt, Pat Conroy; nieces and nephews, Markos Dragas and his wife, Amy, Louis Dragas and his wife, Jenny, Matthew Dragas and his girlfriend, Amy, Cristin Dragas-Atoms and her husband, Nick, Brenton Ryder, Dylan Ryder, Morgan Ryder and her boyfriend, Jack, and Reagan Ryder and her husband, Alex Gylfason; great-nephews, Anthony and Alex Dragas; and great-nieces, Madison, Charlie and Lily Dragas, and Eden Ryder. In addition to her family, Nancy will also be missed by the many members of her daughter and son-in-law’s family and their friends, her extended family, and her dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake with Pastor Tracy Gregory officiating.
