Sylvia Ann Allen, 64 of the Kempsville Section of Virginia Beach passed away March 12, 2012 in her home embraced by family and friend. Born in Beaufort County, NC to the late, Ray Johnson and Mary Ward Johnson. She retired as a supervisor in the business office with Dominion Virginia Power and a member for many years at Indian River Baptist Church.
Besides her mother she is survived by her husband, James LeRoy Allen; daughter, Lisa “Niki” Denny Sowers; sister, Mary Ellen Kuhn; grandson, Aaron Vincent Sowers; and a special friend for over fifty years, Kitty Porath.
Private services were held at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. At the request of the family memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
