PORTSMOUTH - Diana Lynn Bender, 64, of Baywood Lane, went to be with the Lord on February, 22, 2012. A native of Lubec, Maine, she was the daughter of Mae Trott Briggs and the late James Edward Briggs and the widow of Norman C. Bender. She formerly worked for the City of Portsmouth and was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Besides her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Mindy Williams and her husband, Tony and Jennifer Carroll and her husband, Nathan; a sister, Rosanna Jones; four brothers, Ronnie, John, Shawn, and David Briggs; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 pm at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake, with Rev. Larry Ryals officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 5:30 pm.
